Case

With 1500 employees, HR is a critical function for us. After a period of HR being the CFO’s responsibility, we wanted to recruit a HR executive as a resource to take on a more overall and complete responsibility for HR throughout the entire company. BackerSkeie presented talented candidates possessing great business understanding. We quickly ended up with the ideal candidate, who also after a short period of time received greater responsibility after a merge within the company.

CEO nationwide industrial company

We were in a merger after a strategic acquisition and were therefore implementing a placement process for three VP-positions in our management team. It was essential with a successful process to ensure the right composition of expertise in a new management team, while complying with the formal rules regarding placement. Therefore, we chose BackerSkeie to do assessments of the two candidates for each of the three positions. BackerSkeie delivered their recommendations and the assignment was resolved in a week from start to completion. We felt confident about the advices given, and we were pleased that BackerSkeie made assessments based on that the management team were supposed to work as a unit from that point on.

CEO of a listed oil company

We were to start a new subsidiary and had two internal candidates for the CEO position. Despite having one of the candidates as a clear favorite, we still chose to do a quality assurance and benchmark the two candidates against each other. BackerSkeie was thoroughly familiar with our business, strategy, and future prospects. We were surprised when BackerSkeie recommended the other candidate. They challenged us regarding our strategy to both acquisitions and the need for reorganization and recommended the other candidate in terms of this area of expertise. We chose to hire the candidate recommended from BackerSkeie, and we are very pleased with both the process and the result.
